Prada Finalizes $1 Billion USD Versace Acquisition
The fashion world was reshaped this week as the Prada Group finalized its major acquisition of Versace in a massive $1.375 billion USD cash deal. This strategic move, which came after a rival acquisition by Tapestry was blocked, consolidates two Italian luxury titans, aiming to inject Versace with the financial stability needed to compete globally. Just days after the merger was completed, Creative Director Dario Vitale announced a sudden departure. The new era will be overseen by Prada heir, Lorenzo Bertelli, as the Executive Chairman; however, a successor for Vitale hasn’t been confirmed. Donatella Versace, who recently stepped down as creative chief, shared an emotional social media post celebrating the union, linking the partnership back to her brother, Gianni. The union places Versace under the same corporate umbrella as Prada and Miu Miu.
Tyler, the Creator Announces Final le FLEUR* Collection
Rapper-turned-designer Tyler, the Creator, announced the end of his luxury clothing line, le FLEUR*, via an emotional Instagram post. While fragrances, accessories, and select collaborations will continue, the brand will cease production of full seasonal clothing collections. Fans can look forward to the GOLF le FLEUR* Season Four, which will serve as the final collection, dropping soon on the official webstore. Since its inception in 2017, le FLEUR* carved out a unique space in menswear with its signature aesthetic of pastel hues, prep-infused luxury, and tasteful maximalism—a notable departure from his earlier Golf Wang label. Tyler called, making clothing his “second passion,” but felt it was time to “slow down on communicating.”
Demna Unveils Gucci Pre-Fall 2026 Lookbook
Demna unveiled his sophomore collection for Gucci with the Pre-Fall 2026 lookbook, moving away from his signature oversized silhouettes and instead channeling the sleek, refined aesthetic of ’90s Tom Ford-era Gucci. The collection focuses heavily on clean, slim-fit tailoring, elevated everyday basics, and luscious materials. The lookbook, shot with stark lighting and shadows reminiscent of Ford’s runway shows, features streamlined suede and leather outerwear and subdued interpretations of classic Gucci prints. Accessories emphasize the new elegance with sharp-toed footwear and signature bags ranging from micro sizes (like the re-introduced Jackie 1961) to roomy weekender styles.
SKYLRK Opens First Pop-Up Store in Tokyo, Japan
Justin Bieber‘s SKYLRK marked a significant milestone less than a year after its launch by opening its first-ever physical retail space: a temporary pop-up in Tokyo, Japan (running December 4–8). The store, which showcases an aesthetic entirely true to the brand’s sleek, futuristic ethos, carries classic apparel and footwear staples. Exclusives include the Hailey Gray Rest Slipper (a collaboration with Hailey Bieber) and the Lilac-hued Earth Bender shoe, which was 3D-printed in partnership with Zellerfeld. This first-ever store solidifies SKYLRK’s immediate prominence in global sneaker and fashion culture.
Ralph Lauren Releases Team USA 2026 Winter Olympics Uniforms
Continuing its long-standing partnership, Ralph Lauren unveiled the official Team USA uniforms for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics ceremonies. The two patriotic, red-white-and-blue ensembles are dynamic, distinct, and entirely Made in the USA. The Opening Ceremony look features classic American style centered on an ivory wool duffle coat with wooden toggles. The Closing Ceremony uniform offers a more contemporary, sporty aesthetic via a color-blocked puffer jacket and athletic utility pants. A separate retail collection for fans, following the same patriotic color palette and motifs, is now available for purchase.
Levi’s Vintage Clothing Reissues Albert Einstein’s Leather Jacket
Levi’s Vintage Clothing (LVC) honored the legacy of Albert Einstein by releasing a faithful, limited-edition reproduction of his iconic Menlo Cossack Leather Jacket. Einstein acquired the original jacket around 1935, and it was famously bought by Levi Strauss & Co. at a 2016 auction, reportedly still retaining the faint smell of sweet pipe tobacco. LVC’s reproduction is strictly limited to 800 hand-numbered pieces worldwide. True to the 1935 design, the jacket features a cropped, boxy fit, distinctive rounded collar/cuffs, and brass buckles. Each piece comes with special packaging, including a replica of the original Christie’s auction paddle.
