Summary

  • Ralph Lauren designed two distinct red-white-and-blue uniforms for Team USA’s Milano Cortina Winter Olympics ceremonies, continuing a nearly 20-year partnership.
  • The Opening Ceremony look features a heritage duffle coat, while the Closing Ceremony look is a sporty, color-blocked puffer jacket, with both ensembles made in the USA.

Continuing a nearly 20-year relationship, Ralph Lauren has designed Team USA‘s official Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony uniforms for the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. The two dynamic red-white-and-blue ensembles each have a distinct expression, with the Opening looks boasting heritage details and the Closing looks leaning into sporty performancewear.

Chief Branding and Innovation Officer, David Lauren, shared, “Our design philosophy has always been about creating dreams and telling stories through style, and these uniforms, both timeless and modern, reflect the passion, optimism, and relentless pursuit of excellence that embody the American spirit,” in an official statement.

“With Milan — one of the great fashion capitals — as this year’s backdrop, we sought to honor the city’s creative spirit while staying true to the enduring style that defines Ralph Lauren,” he added.

The Opening Ceremony uniform centers on an ivory wool duffle coat with wooden toggles, paired with an American flag intarsia wool turtleneck sweater and wool trousers designed with a tailored fit. For the Closing Ceremony, the brand opted for a contemporary color-blocked puffer jacket with Team USA graphics front and center. Another wool turtleneck sweater is worn underneath, forgoing the fair isle intarsia of the Opening look for a solid color block akin to the puffer. Finally, white utility pants complete the look with an athletic character.

For accessories, both looks can be worn with red, white, and blue intarsia knit hats and mittens, as well as a leather belt and brown suede alpine boots. Emphasizing the patriotic theme, each and every piece in both uniforms is made in the USA.

For fans watching at home, a separate Ralph Lauren Team USA Collection includes an assortment of apparel and accessories for men, women, and children. Following the red, white, and blue palette of the official uniforms, pieces in the range are emblazoned with graphics and appliques. Standing out are military-inspired styles, including a brown leather flight jacket and a hooded olive green bomber, both embellished with Olympic motifs.

The Ralph Lauren Team USA Collection is available now at select U.S. Ralph Lauren retail stores, in select department stores, and online at Ralphlauren.com and TeamUSAShop.com.
