Temporal Works, the new watch brand founded by Mark Cho and Elliot Hammer, debuts with the Series A, a collection that embodies their philosophy of clarity, wearability and timeless style. Known for their collaborations through The Armoury, the duo sought to create a watch free from precedent, reconsidering every design decision from first principles. Cho describes the goal as crafting a timepiece “as thoughtfully designed and effortlessly wearable as a perfectly tailored navy blazer,” while Hammer emphasizes that every element had to earn its place, from dial graphics to case proportions. To achieve the level of refinement envisioned, production was entrusted to Japanese artisans, whose precision craftsmanship brings the subtleties of the design to life.
The centerpiece of Temporal Works’s Series A is its custom-designed case, a 37mm stainless steel monobloc inspired by the sleek, space-age silhouettes of the ’60s and ’70s. This design prioritizes the wearing experience, featuring a wrist-hugging ergonomic profile and carefully sculpted geometry. The finish is exceptionally detailed, featuring Zaratsu polishing for distortion-free mirror surfaces that accentuate the case’s dimensionality and architectural form. Complementing the case are Temporal Works’ proprietary Nib hands, which take inspiration from fountain pen nibs and are crafted with three facets – two polished and one matte – to enhance legibility and offer a distinctive visual signature.
Offered in two distinct dial configurations, the first variant boasts a classic oversized sector layout. Available in rich navy or deep black, this model features a toothed minute track and a quarter-brushed finish that changes as light moves across the dial. Meanwhile, the second variant spotlights a vivid Fortune Dial, which utilizes a glossy red lacquer and is intentionally stripped of all ornamentation and markings for striking visual impact. The watch is paired with a bespoke leather strap handcrafted by Jean Rousseau, alongside an optional custom Staib steel-mesh bracelet, ensuring aesthetic harmony and comfortable daily wear.
Powering the three-hand timepiece is the Sellita SW210-1, a reliable Swiss manual winding movement chosen for its accuracy, serviceability and proven durability. The movement boasts 42 hours of power reserve and beats at a frequency of 28,800 hourly vibrations. Priced at $2,500 USD, all variants of the Series A watch are now available for purchase through The Armoury’s online store and its physical locations in Hong Kong and New York City.
