Skateboarding is set to make its Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Games, so Nike SB has risen to the occasion by outfitting the USA, Brazil and France’s teams in bold federation kits and readying two new iterations of the SB Bruin. Made with sustainability in mind, the products offer world-class skaters like Nyjah Huston and Sean Malto the opportunity to style their garb in ways that break from the Olympic Games‘ standard regulations.

Designed by artist and long-time Nike collaborator Piet Parra, the federation kits for the USA, Brazil and France are made of 100% recycled polyester. Parra’s colorful landscapes adorn each piece, and provide a nod to a famous sport from each country. The USA’s gear is inspired by traditional basketball jerseys, and features a bald eagle graphic on its lower left side. Brazil looks to soccer and adds a cheerful toucan, while France takes to the tennis court and equips a signature rooster. The USA and Brazil both present a country code on the left sleeve, while France features a flag in the same spot. Once a rebellious subculture, skateboarding has long chafed at the idea of uniformity, so Parra’s abstract creations help adopt Olympic dress for a new era.

Footwear is centered around two upgraded iterations of the SB Bruin: the Bruin ZoomX and Bruin React. The Bruin ZoomX arrives in both “Dangerous” and SB-exclusive “Blue Flame” colorways, and is constructed of Flyknit with classic suede inlays. The insole is inspired by the Vaporfly 4%, and utilizes Flyplate tech for maximum responsiveness and board feel. Meanwhile, the Bruin React opts for a softer feel with a drop-in React foam midsole. Uppers are constructed of traditional suede and offer dropped Swoosh graphics, with a zonal herringbone outsole pattern ensuring optimal traction. Much like its ZoomX counterpart, it’ll be available in two makeups: “Rawthentic” and SB-exclusive “Blue Flame.”

A release date for Nike SB’s slate of Olympic products has yet to be announced, but you can expect an arrival later this summer on the Nike webstore and at select skate stockists.
