Burton has launched Zeb’s Closet, an outerwear and apparel collection built in partnership with team rider Zeb Powell. Burton bills it as the first globally available collection it has created with the snowboarder. The range is designed around Powell’s personal style rather than performance specs alone, combining technical outerwear with the loose, oversized pieces he wears both on the mountain and off it.
The design brief was simple: build what Powell would actually wear. In practice, that means waterproof outerwear, utility-driven detailing and premium construction, all cut into the roomy, baggy silhouettes closely tied to his look. Every piece is meant to allow unrestricted movement, so the fit supports the loose, freestyle way he rides.
The rest of the range pushes further into streetwear. Heavyweight hoodies, jerseys, rugby shirts, tees, shorts and pants sit alongside reversible bucket hats and technical shells. All of it is intended to be stacked in layers and worn long after the last lap of the day. The standout piece is a reversible insulated vest, which gives riders a functional mid-layer with enough personality to wear on its own.
“It’s called Zeb’s Closet because it’s actually what I would wear – on the mountain and off the mountain,” Powell said in a statement. That on-and-off-hill crossover fits the larger picture Burton sees in the collection. The brand views Powell as the face of a new generation of snowboarding shaped by creativity, self-expression and the communities changing what the sport looks like. “Zeb has inspired an entirely new generation to see snowboarding differently,” said Zach Nigro, Burton’s Vice President of Brand & Sports Marketing.
That community focus extends to the rollout through Zeb’s Mobile Closet, a custom-built traveling installation modeled on Powell’s own closet. The installation debuts in New York City during launch week before heading to snowboarding hubs around the world. At each stop, riders can see the collection, meet Powell and join local events, ride days and park sessions. The installation will change as the season goes on, appearing at flagship retail events and on-hill activations, and at some stops it will even be built into the terrain as a rideable feature.
Zeb’s Closet is available now online, Burton retail stores and select specialty retailers worldwide.
