Nike Adds a Hit of “Tiempo” to the Cortez and Killshot 2
Taking design inspiration from football boots’ fold over tongue.

Nike is taking major design inspiration from football with the Cortez and Killshot 2 “Tiempo.” Elevating the two offerings are the models’ fold over tongue, both of which include an embossed swoosh in either white or black.
The Cortez stands out from its regular counterparts with premium leather uppers that feature double stitched panel divides. Additional branding lands on the white panel swoosh, half-hidden tongue tag, special silver insoles and embossed “72” and check insignias on the heel. The shoe rests on a black midsole and herringbone gum outsole with white laces.
Meanwhile, the Killshot 2 is built with sleek chrome uppers that allows for a more minimal stitched panel check. Similar branding is found on this silhouette, with the exception of embroidered logos on the heel. A gum midsole and outsole offers extra traction, while black laces tie it together for a cohesive finish.
