Summary

  • Spotify and FC Barcelona have tapped Travis Scott for their sixth jersey takeover
  • The trio have also designed a Cactus Jack collection of off-pitch apparel
  • To celebrate, Scott will be performing in Barcelona for the first time

Spotify and FC Barcelona kicked off their long-term partnership in July of 2022, not only appointing Spotify as the main partner of the legendary club, but kicking off several campaigns. One such initiative is the jersey takeover series, which has seen the likes of Drake, Coldplay, ROSALÍA, The Rolling Stones, and, most recently, KAROL G, all assemble their own take on the club’s kit for El Clásico — when Barcelona takes on its rival club, Real Madrid. Now, with El Clásico taking place again on May 11, Travis Scott has put his own spin on the jersey.

The Cactus Jack logo is present at the chest of the jersey, where Spotify’s logo typically resides. This same arrangement hits other apparel as part of a capsule collection between the trio — a limited edition range that is designed for lifestyle wear. It includes a jacket, two hoodies, a retro jersey, t-shirt, shorts, cap, scarf, and a retro football. “This wasn’t just about throwing Cactus Jack on a jersey. It’s about building something that blurs the line between sound and sport,” shares Scott on the campaign.

This time around, Spotify has taken things to the next level by bringing Scott to perform in Barcelona for the first time. While details remain vague, it’s noted that “his most loyal fans in the city will be rewarded with an exclusive invite only concert,” taking place on May 10 at “an iconic venue in the heart of the city, transforming a landmark location into a stage delivering an unforgettable experience for fans.”

Look out for FC Barcelona to take on Real Madrid on May 11 with the Cactus Jack-branded jerseys. FC Barcelona Femini will also wear the special edition kit, repping it during their final Liga F match of the season on May 18. The jerseys will be available in limited quantities today via the Barça official stores in Spain and online at 10am CEST. As for the Cactus Jack collection, it will drop via Travis Scott’s website on May 9.
