Eem Triplin Envisions a 'Melody of a Memory' on His Debut LP
Equipped with production from Dahi, the emerging Philadelphia rapper’s first album arrives as a culmination of his two-years long rise.
Eem Triplin‘s long-form debut is here at last. At just 24 years old, the Johnstown, Pennsylvania rapper has been in no rush, dropping off hazily addicting pluggnb offerings and locking in his lane with tracks like “AWKWARD FREESTYLE,” “JUST FRIENDS ?” and “LOUIS V” as well as a handful of EPs. Now, about two years into his slow burn of “rapper to watch” status, the budding Triplin has taken the reigns on his first-ever studio album, arriving as a blurry yet bouncy encapsulation of his still-evolving artistry.
“It’s been a long time coming, but I hope fans know that I’ve been putting a lot of hard work into this album,” the rapper explained in a statement. “I’m excited for the people to finally hear what we’ve been cooking up over the past year or so while I’ve been in the studio with the homies Dahi, Matt, Charlie, and more. This project reveals parts of me that I haven’t shared before and also shows a side of my sound that I haven’t shown folks yet. I think it shows my evolution as an artist, and I hope people hear that when they tune in.”
Clocking in at 13 tracks, Melody of a Memory is mostly produced by Dahi (formerly DJ Dahi) with assistance from Matthew Castellanos and Eem’s frequent collaborator Charlie Myles. At just over a half-hour long, the LP comes carried by lead singles “FIJI” with Cruza, “MISS ME” and “CRAZY H*ES” as well as an additional feature from Ty Dolla $ign on the Clams Casino-produced “Out Miami.” Find the full tracklist below.
