Summary
- Marc Jacobs and A.P.C. have collaborated on a 26-piece capsule collection inspired by their university days in New York and Paris.
- The collection features collegiate-style pieces with specific nods to the designers’ roots, including their student IDs and city references.
Drawing on classic collegiate aesthetics, Marc Jacobs and A.P.C. have launched a cross-cultural collaboration inspired by the roots of the two collaborators.
The 26-piece capsule collection celebrates Marc Jacobs and Jean Touitou‘s 1980s roots in New York and Paris, respectively, with visual references to the iconic cities. Harkening back to the designers’ university days, Marc Jacobs’ original Paris “Carte Orange” transit pass and Jean Touitou’s Sorbonne student card are both featured on graphic tees, inspiring accents across the range.

The collaboration reinterprets collegiate style with layered fabrics, precise detailing, and archival references from Paris and New York. Rooted in a friendship that began in the 1990s, this collaboration reflects the natural connection between Marc Jacobs and Jean Touitou and the creative worlds they have each built.
Fictional Marc Jacobs and A.P.C. university crests are intertwined on key pieces, including a varsity jacket crafted from fine wool and cowhide and crewneck tees and sweatshirts. A.P.C. supplies its signature denim for men’s and women’s jeans, a miniskirt, and a unisex chore jacket. Elsewhere, striped polos, rugby shirts and Oxford-style shirting leans heavily into vintage prep sensibilities.

With a closer look, clever details, including Roman Empire–style buttons bearing the designers’ profiles, add another level of sophistication to the casual apparel styles. In accessories, Marc Jacobs’ Tote Bag is reimagined as “The A.P.C. Tote” in brown leather, and the Varsity Tote creates a patchwork from crested denim fabrics. Finally, a brown leather penny loafer ties the collection together, accompanied by a special-edition coin.
Ranging from $100 to $1,295 USD, the Marc Jacobs x A.P.C. capsule collection is available now at Marc Jacobs boutiques, A.P.C. stores, and online at marcjacobs.com and the A.P.C. webstore.
