Update: Last week we were treated by Ronnie Fieg to a preview of not only a new Kith flagship store in Chicago, but an upcoming eight-shoe collaboration with ASICS as well. Now, the “World’s Fair” collection has officially been unveiled in its entirety ahead of its debut in Chicago this weekend. Four premium renditions of the GEL-LYTE III pay homage to South Korea, Italy, Canada, and Brazil, respectively. From there, a Chicago-themed GEL-KAYANO 14 is joined by a US-based GEL-KAYANO 12.1 composition. A new version of the GEL-MAI, the GEL-MAI 0.1, features a new combination of a mesh underlay and synthetic leather overlays while nodding to Japan. Rounding out the range is a France-inspired GEL-LYTE III.I. Kith Chicago is set to debut the collaboration on October 4, with a global launch scheduled for October 6 via Kith storefronts.

A new Instagram post from Fieg details not only Kith Chicago, but an eight-shoe ASICS collection that will debut at the store. Bridging the cities of New York and Chicago is a common thread: the World’s Fair. This international exposition has been held in both cities over the years and serves as inspiration for the aforementioned ASICS project. After working through 36 sneaker samples, a selection of eight has been made, with premium finishes nodding to various cities and countries. Four GEL-LYTE IIIs, a GEL-LYTE III.I, GEL-MAI, GEL-KAYANO 12.1, and a Chicago flag-themed GEL-KAYANO 14 have been prepared with special co-branding scattered throughout.
For those looking to shop Kith’s new “World’s Fair” collection, it is set to debut via Kith Chicago on Saturday, October 4. From there, a global launch is said to be taking place. Ahead of the store’s grand opening on the 4th, a special event at the flagship will be taking place on the 3rd, featuring a Ronnie Fieg-featured ASICS panel, several ASICS collections on display, and more.
