Quentin Tarantino‘s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair — the full-length version of Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, is receiving its first ever nationwide theatrical release.

Variety reports that the film will hit both 70mm and 35mm theaters on December 5. “I wrote and directed it as one movie — and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie,” Tarantino said in a statement. “The best way to see ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair‘ is at a movie theater in glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”

The Whole Bloody Affair stitches both volumes together as one complete story from start to finish, along with a never-before-seen animated scene clocking in at seven-and-a-half minutes. The whole film supposedly runs for a whopping 258 minutes, or just a little over four hours. It’s been shown in a public setting only a handful of times in the past; first at Cannes 2006, then an updated cut in 2011 at Tarantino’s New Beverly Cinema and, most recently, at his Vista Theater earlier this summer.
