The collection blends LABRUM’s West African design codes with British fashion staples.
Summary:
- LABRUM and John Lewis have collaborated on a 38-piece collection.
- The range fuses Labrum’s West African-inspired streetwear with John Lewis’ seasonal classics, co-designed with the retailer’s in-house team.
- The collection will be available October 21.
Season after season, LBARUM‘s founder Foday Dumbuya has been creatively bridging the gap between Western society and African culture through powerful storytelling and standout collaborations.
The brand has collaborated with Guinness on abstract furniture, the Shakur Estate on a Tupac-inspired capsule, and adidas to design the official kit for Sierra Leone’s National Olympic Committee – just to name a few. Additionally, just a few weeks ago, the British-African brand transformed Central Hall Westminster into a theatrical runway experience for London Fashion Week.
Now, continuing its journey of meaningful collaboration, LABRUM has announced its next move: a 38-piece collection with British retailer John Lewis.
Earlier this year, John Lewis revealed plans to reinvigorate its fashion offering, curating a refreshed mix of luxury heritage labels, as well as emerging brands.
The John Lewis x LABRUM London collection blends LABRUM’s signature West African x London streetwear aesthetic with John Lewis’ seasonal wardrobe staples.
Working directly with the retailer’s in-house design team to bring the collection to life, Dumbuya has created a range of visually rich, high-quality pieces that remain grounded in commercial appeal.
A standout feature of the collection is its focus on textile variation. Expect elevated pieces crafted from lambswool, cotton-merino-cashmere blends, and leather.
The brands signature Nomoli logo has also been used in addition to intricate jacquard weaving to add detail. However, the clean and minimalist fit grounds the collection in everyday wearability, as well as the autumnal palette of inky “navy”, warm “browns”, mustard “yellow”, burnt “orange”, and soft “neutrals”.
The collection will be available from October 21 in five John Lewis stores and online on the brands website.
