OMEGA Releases a Duo of Speedmaster Moonphase Watches With Meteorite Dials
Available in black as well as well blue with gray.
OMEGA has unveiled the Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite collection featuring two 43mm stainless steel models. The new references embrace the connection to the night sky by incorporating iron meteorites onto the dials.
The galvanic gray coated variant features a blue PVD dial plate, complemented with a blue ceramic bezel as well 18k gold hour markers and hands tonal PVD coating. Similarly, the black-dial version is also fitted with PVD-coated indices and a handset crafted from 18k gold but is paired with a black ceramic bezel with a white enamel tachymeter scale.
At the 6 o’clock mark, the moonphase display features two cabochon Moons made from genuine Moon meteorites. These Moons rotate to reflect the changing lunar illuminations seen from different hemispheres, with the stars in the background arranged exactly as they appeared when Apollo 11 reached the Moon in 1969 — as viewed from OMEGA’s HQ in Switzerland.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the watch is powered by the manual-winding Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9914. This movement is anti-magnetic to 15,000 gauss, ensuring METAS-certified precision and chronometric performance.
Both models are fitted with a polished and brushed bracelet featuring OMEGA’s patented comfort release adjustment system. The two new Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite watches are available via OMEGA, each priced at $17,100 USD.
