Nike has released its most advanced Pegasus running silhouette yet with the all-new Pegasus Premium. The reimagined model from the 1982-born Pegasus series features Nike’s first-ever sculpted, visible Air Zoom unit to boost runners’ stride with propulsion.
Along with ZoomX foam at the midsole and ReactX foam at the heel, the meticulously contoured Air Zoom unit provides a smooth springy sensation with each step from heel to toe. Together Nike’s designers, engineers, and scientists worked to create an unprecedented feel and to ensure that runners get the most return on energy from the sneaker. While Nike has worked with flat Air Zoom units for years, new capabilities including computational design, AI engines and rapid prototyping have paved the way for ever-more advanced units.
The new model debuts in a white colorway with bright orange accents on the Air Zoom unit, the insoles, and the tongue graphics. Coming soon, another black colorway is shown on the Nike website featuring a metallic silver swoosh. Tracing the silhouette and woven into the laces of both variants are reflective accents for a futuristic appeal.
Uppers are comprised of various translucent mesh overlays, embracing the visible components of the technical runner. While pared-back in its overall effect, the model features no shortage of branding from the contrasting swoosh on the lateral panel, as well as an Air graphic and a chrome swoosh applique on the medial side. At the heel, the Pegasus wing is quietly shown on a small tab, while the tongue displays the full model name in orange type.
The white colorway of the Nike Pegasus Premium is available now for $210 USD at the official Nike web store and select retail locations. Stay tuned to Hypebeast for updates on the release of the black variant.
