JENNIE x Dominic Fike Connect on Debut Collab, "Love Hangover"
The duo we didn’t know we needed.
When JENNIE and Dominic Fike linked up at the YSL show in Paris earlier in the week, devoted fans of both artists and fashion fanatics alike hoped there was a musical collaboration on the brink with JENNIE’s solo debut Ruby nearing. The duo confirmed the speculation of a collab track, surfacing today in the form of a dreamy, dual-minded delivery entitled “Love Hangover.”
The single is paired with a just-as-captivating and cinematic music video, opening with a funeral scene for the BLACKPINK star. Through the video – which also stars Charles Melton as her toxic boyfriend – JENNIE dies a handful of deaths by way of camp-y scenarios such as a bowling accident and a monster tearing through the screen at the drive-in movie theater.
“We say it’s over (Uh) / But I keep f*cking with you (Yeah),” JENNIE croons on the chorus. “And every time I do, I wake up with this love hangover / You got me pourin’ for two / I swore l’d never do it again.” Fike hops in for a follow-up verse, bringing his witty wordplay and candor to the second half.
Ruby, due out next month, also consists of features from the likes of Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis, Doechii and FKJ.
Stream “Love Hangover” on all DSPs now and expect Ruby to drop everywhere on March 7.
