Awake NY FW24 Is A Thematic Homage to New York City
Including a collaborative take on Vanson’s signature Star Jacket plus plenty of bold prints, patterns and colors.

After a summer full of collaborations and capsules with everyone from FERG to Union LA and Badfriend, Awake NY is back with its next full collection for FW24. A thematic homage to the brand and its founder Angelo Baque‘s New York City roots, the offerings are full of bold prints, patterns and colors across a range of transitional-season pieces.
The offerings are led by Awake NY’s first Vanson collaboration. A bold iteration of Vanson’s signature Star Jacket, the co-created piece boasts a red, blue, yellow, black and white color scheme with Awake NY’s crown logo displayed prominently on its chest among Vanson’s familiar motorsport-inspired details. Other key items include jackets doused in camo and reptile prints, tie-dyed sweaters, printed jerseys and denim sets cleverly embroidered with an all-over rendition of Awake NY’s “100%” graphic.
Notes from Awake NY note some of Angelo Baque’s favorite albums as key points of inspiration for the collection. Chief among these is Smif-N-Wessun‘s 1995 debut album Dah Shinin’, which a young Baque would bump daily on his A train commute from Lefferts Boulevard in Queens, through Brooklyn and into downtown Manhattan. Other inspirations include Sons of Kemet’s Your Queen is a Reptile and the work of author Kodwo Eshun.
Expect the Awake NY FW24 collection to release via the brand’s brick-and-mortar flagship at 62 Orchard St on Friday, September 6, then touch down on its webstore the following week. Prices range from $48-$365 USD.
