Haider Ackermann Named Creative Director of Tom Ford
Succeeding Peter Hawkings, who held the role for just under a year.

Haider Ackermann is the new Creative Director of Tom Ford, bringing his avant-garde yet wearable design and thoughtful and detailed tailoring to the brand.
“I have long been a great fan of Haider’s work. I find both his womenswear and menswear equally compelling. He is an incredible colorist, his tailoring is sharp, and above all he is modern,” said Ford, who stepped down from his eponymous brand in 2023. “We share many of the same historical references, and I could not be more excited to see what he does with the brand. I suspect that I will be the first on my feet to applaud after his show in March.”
Ford left his brand following the retirement of his longtime business partner Domenico De Sole. Peter Hawkings succeeded Ford but showed just two collections before he also left the company.
Ackermann was born in Colombia and lives in Paris. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and has held roles at Fila and Berluti, along with guest designing a season for Jean Paul Gaultier couture. While at Tom Ford, Ackermann will remain in his current position as Creative Director at Canada Goose.
“It is with tremendous pride that I will seek to honor the legacy of Tom Ford, a man I have long admired and have the utmost respect for,” Ackermann said. “I am much looking forward to what lies ahead.”
The designer will be debuting his first collection for Tom Ford in March 2025 during Paris Fashion Week.
