A. Lange & Söhne's Piece-Unique Datograph Up/Down Will Be Heading to Auction in November
Entitled “Hampton Court Edition.”

While A. Lange & Söhne recently unveiled a new Datograph Handwerkskunst at Watches & Wonders Shanghai, the German watch brand also presented another Datograph timepiece in Geneva. Specially crafted for an upcoming Philips auction, the Datograph Up/Down “Hampton Court Edition” will be sold as a piece-unique, with all proceeds going to the Prince’s Trust charity.
Starring a gray dial, the 41mm timepiece comes encased in 750 white-gold and it is paired with black subdials and an engraved hinged cuvette — a combination that has never been released by the brand before. All markings and adornment on the dial remain synonymous with the model’s usual characteristic, including the signature outsized date. Adding a touch of color to the dial, the chronograph hand is doused in a vibrant red that stands out from the rest of the watch’s face.
An engraved hinged cuvette conceals the caseback, which can be opened up to reveal the L951.6 in-house movement inside. The exterior cover comes engraved with “Concours of Elegance Hampton Court Palace 2024” alongside a silhouette of a Pegasus.
In November, the Datograph Up/Down “Hampton Court Edition” will go under the hammer of Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo, where it will be auctioned off in a sale.
