William Ellery spent the lion’s share of the summer adding to its bag range with go-anywhere styles like the Beachcomber Bag and Butte Bag as well as building custom beach towels and sunglasses — and even hosting a “Cowboy Camp” — but with Labor Day now in the rearview mirror, the New York-based purveyor of high-quality, delightfully esoteric outdoor goods has pivoted back to apparel. Its first drop of the (unofficial) fall season? New “Sandstone” and “Green Shale” colorways of its “Weekender” shirt, each inspired by the layers of sedimentary rock that make up the surface layer of Earth’s crust.
A thick rugby shirt designed to handle the demands of rock climbing, the “Weekender” is made of heavyweight cotton and boasts durable details like reinforced seams and rubber buttons that prevent damage from any snags, scuffs or scrapes. Both feature an ultra-thin tiger-striped pattern, with “Green Shale” combining rich forest green, olive green and mustard yellow hues while “Sandstone” supplies a mixture of brown and tan shades. Both feature contrasting white collars and plackets plus a large chest pocket and a custom label.
Expect the William Ellery “Weekender” shirt in “Sandstone” and “Green Shale” to release via the brand’s webstore on September 8 at 12 PM ET.
