Tuthill Unveils the GT ONE: A Modern Masterpiece Inspired by Racing History
Limited to just 22 production examples.
During this year’s Monterey Car Week, Tuthill Porsche, renowned for its precision in automotive engineering, has unveiled its latest creation, the GT ONE. Inspired by the iconic FIA GT1 race class that dominated Le Mans in the 1990s, the GT ONE is a testament to both innovation and the rich heritage of motorsport. However, unlike its race-ready predecessors, the GT ONE is designed specifically for the road, offering a unique blend of track performance and street usability.
The GT ONE is set to be an extremely exclusive offering, with only 22 production models planned. Each car will be meticulously handcrafted, requiring 3,500 build hours to tailor every detail to the owner’s specifications. Designed by California-based Florian Flatau, the car features a full carbon fiber body, embodying both strength and lightweight agility.
Under the hood, the GT ONE boasts a 4.0L flat-six engine available in two configurations: a naturally aspirated version delivering over 493 hp and a forced induction variant pushing over 593 hp. The power is managed through a choice of a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission or a manual gearbox, catering to both modern and traditional driving preferences.
The car’s engineering is equally impressive, featuring twin wishbone suspension, carbon ceramic brakes and bespoke calipers, all contributing to a total weight of just 2,645 lbs. Advanced aerodynamics, honed through CFD analysis, further enhances its performance, while an optional aero package is under consideration for those who wish to push the GT ONE to its limits on the track.
Richard Tuthill, the visionary behind the GT ONE, expressed his hope that this car would not only be a piece of art but a machine to be driven and enjoyed. “We have taken inspiration from all that we have done in the past and have been inspired by what others have done before us and continue to do,” said Tuthill.
At the time of writing, Tuthill has not yet announced pricing for the GT ONE.
