Pharrell Reveals New 'Piece by Piece' Film Poster
Featuring many Easter eggs, including a LEGO Daft Punk and Kendrick Lamar.
Just a couple of months away from its premiere date, Pharrell Williams has revealed a new film poster for his upcoming LEGO animated film, Piece by Piece. At the beginning of the year, Focus Features called the film “an unparalleled motion picture experience that captures the magic and brilliance of Pharrell Williams’ creative genius, one LEGO brick at a time.” Directed by Oscar-winning Morgan Neville, the film has garnered immense attention due to its unconventional way of storytelling.
Pharrell has taken to Instagram reveal an all-news and more comprehensive movies posters, packed with other LEGO Minifigures. Many Easter eggs are revealed in the poster, giving audiences and fans a glimpse of what to expect. In the film, LEGO Kendrick Lamar appears in his iconic “Crown of Thorns” headpiece, while Daft Punk in the LEGO world does not seem to be retired. LEGO Gwen Stefani is in her No Doubt days and LEGO N.O.R.E. makes an appearance as well. Other LEGO cameos see versions of Morgan Neville, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, JAY-Z and Snoop Dogg.
In the original announcement statement, Pharrell said, “When I had this crazy vision to tell this story through LEGO bricks, I couldn’t have imagined a better partner than Morgan. He is a legend. Grateful that Focus wanted to collaborate with us, and I’m honored to share this with the world and bring people into my universe. Building with LEGO bricks encourages us to follow our imagination… who would’ve thought that playing with these toys as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life? It’s proof that anyone else can do it, too.”
Piece by Piece hits theaters on October 11.
