Back in December, Netflix announced that it would be producing a One Piece remake anime that will go by the name of THE ONE PIECE. In a recent livestream by The One Piece Day ‘24, it’s revealed that the anime features a rather impressive production staff list.

Netflix and WIT Studio have brought on Masashi Koizuka, the director of Attack on Titan to direct the series. Taking on the role of assistant director is Hideaki Abe, who has worked as an episode director for Jujutsu Kaisen and also as the key animator for projects such as Mob Psycho 100.

With the premise of One Piece being adventure and action-heavy, veteran animators such as Ken Imaizumi (Boruto) and Shuhei Fukuda (My Hero Academia) are also on the list of credits. Takatoshi Honda, the animation director for The First Slam Dunk is also on board as the series’ chief animation director.

Since THE ONE PIECE will be produced by WIT Studio, staff from some of the studio’s other noteworthy projects have been brought on to work on this new and exciting series. The anime’s character design will be handled by Kyoji Asano, another veteran in the industry who’s worked on Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Attack on Titan as well as SPY x FAMILY.
