This week, the tech industry saw another convergence with the fashion industry courtesy of Bottega Veneta. The fashion house has found common ground with Apple for a new addition to its Tech Rubber Family: an accessory for its Airpods Max headphones.

Elsewhere in the product space, Teenage Engineering revives the Medieval era for its new EP-1320 Medieval and Pure Electric x McLaren have joined forces for a fifth and final collaborative e-scooter.

Rounding out the headlines of the week is another lawsuit from Elon Musk, who is asserting that

Below, Hypebeast has rounded up the top tech stories of the week so you can stay up to date on trends in the industry.

Bottega Veneta Expanded Its Tech Accessories Line To Include AirPod Max Covers

With the Apple AirPods Max craze still alive and well, Bottega Veneta is hopping on the wave. The latest addition to the label’s “Tech Rubber Family” line is a set of silicone rubber Airpod Max Lite Covers.

In true Bottega form, the accessory is adorned with its signature intrecciato pattern. The Covers complement the Airpods Max perfectly, surfacing in the same shades of black and navy blue.

Alongside the Airpod Max Lite Covers, Bottega has also unveiled three colorways of iPhone 15 Pro cases. Shop all new Tech Rubber Family pieces now at Bottega Veneta’s webstore.

Teenage Engineering Launched Medieval-Themed EP–1320

Teenage Engineering is really throwing it back for its latest hi-tech offering. Looking back all the way to the Medieval Times, the new sampler, sequencer and composer is dubbed the EP-1320 Medieval and comes equipped with hundreds of medieval sounds and samples.

Running for $299 USD, the EP-1320 Medieval also features immersive sound effects as well as the ability for users to sample their own sounds via internal microphone or line input.

The EP’s appearance also follows suit, reading “instrumentalis electronicum” (which translates to “electronic instrument,) with all lettering written in Latin and in a Gothic-style front.

Elon Musk Sued OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman Over Microsoft Deal

After his withdrawal of June lawsuit, Elon Musk is suing OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman over OpenAI’s recent Microsoft partnership.

Musk claims that the company has lost sight of its non-profit founding mission, claiming OpenAI initially promised to place “a focus on safety and openness for the benefit of humanity, not shareholder value.” He asserts that his 45 million USD investment in the company stemmed from its emphasis on using AI “for the benefit of humanity.”

The lawsuit goes on to claim that OpenAI created a “corporate web for the purpose of profiting from the non-profit’s assets.” Stay tuned to Hypebeast as the story progresses.

Pure and McLaren Presented Final E-Scooter Collaboration

Pure Electric and McLaren have got one last collaboration in the tank. For the duo’s fifth and final e-scooter delivery — dubbed the MP4/4 — it’s emulating McLaren’s 1988 Formula 1 vehicle driven by the likes of Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna.

While minimalistic in form, the color-blocked MP4/4 is far from simple in function. The two-wheeler is powered by an upgraded 710w motor with a 31-mile range. Foldable and compact, the last offering in the lineup from McLaren x Pure also comes complete with dual-sided panels and self-stabilizing handlebars.
