Just last week, Rema released a new single “HEHEHE” in anticipation of his sophomore studio album. Well, now the project entitled HEIS has finally arrived.

HEIS follows Rema’s 2022’s Rave & Roses. But this time around, the Nigerian star digs deeper into uncovering his personal sound and showcasing the music he loves with the 11-track afrobeats project. With HEIS, Rema also dives into themes of being unapologetic to critics and anyone who doubts him. But alongside the message, Rema delivers a variety of rhymic melodies and heavily percussive beats that make people want to get up.

But what also enchants about the album is its exploration of afrobeats’ roots alongside continuing to propel the genre into the future with notes of contemporary experimentation and sampling. Alongside the new album, Rema has been touring in places like Romania, France, Portugal, England and more. Soon, the artist/producer is set to hit the United States where he’s set to headline the Afro Nation Festival in Detroit, Michigan, which runs from August 17-18.

Take a listen to Rema’s new album HEIS above, which is out now on all major streaming platforms.
