Vero’s Latest Furniture Drop Includes Its First Outdoor Collection
Featuring New Designs by Hannes & Fritz, Jamie Wolfond and Thomas Woltmann.
Italian design company Vero has launched its fifth delivery of furniture offerings, comprising a series of new pieces by Hannes & Fritz, Jamie Wolfond and Thomas Woltmann.
Among the range, Swiss-German duo Hannes & Fritz has presented Vero’s first outdoor collection, “Hongkong.” As suggested by its name, the series derives its design inspiration from Hong Kong, specifically the look of stainless steel front door gates that can be spotted throughout many of the city’s old residential buildings. The range consists of a chair, a stool, a bench and two tables, all exuding a blend of avant-garde boldness with simplistic lines.
As for the indoors, the delivery spotlights a minimalistic yet puzzle-like bookshelf system by Canadian designer, Jamie Wolfond. Entitled “Woven,” the bookshelf was born from a happy accident when Wolfond mistakingly cut one of the joinery pieces upside down. “We discovered that by alternating the orientation of each connection in a wooden grid, we could make an object that was equal parts puzzle and shelf. There is a special sequence to assemble this seemingly impossible piece,” says Wolfond, adding that “the shelf’s opposing joinery creates the graphic impression of a plain weave, the ancient system from which it borrows its structure.”
Last but not least, the drop includes the “Wave” Collection, which consists of a stool and a bench crafted by Copenhagen-based designer, Thomas Woltmann. Both composed of solid ash wood, the pieces offer a twist to strict, geometric lines with their wave-like profiles and curves.
All aforementioned pieces are now available via Vero’s official website.
