Porsche Design Joins Forces with Hodinkee for a Chronograph 1 Limited Edition
The first collaboration between the two companies.
Hodinkee is back with another intriguing watch collab. Teaming up with Porsche Design for the first time, the two companies have unveiled a limited-edition Chronograph 1.
Based on F.A. Porsche’s original Chronograph 1, this new timepiece comes with updated specs and a design that is better suited for modern horophiles. At a glance, the timepiece carries some of the original’s design codes like the OG logo as well as the 6 o’clock “H” lettering that’s colored in the 1972 Porsche Design Red.
Encased in titanium, the reference measures 40.8mm in case diameter and is paired with a matching bracelet topped with a black titanium carbide coating. It’s also implemented with design features that nod to Hodinkee, such as the legacy-spec “1 Mile” graphic rehaut that hints at the company’s U.S. market. The day display window also alternates in English and Japanese as an homage to Hodinkee’s first sister publication, Hodinkee Japan.
The reference is powered by Porsche Design’s COSC-certified WERK 01.140 movement, which provides the piece with around 48 hours of power reserve. With only 350 pieces produced, each unit of the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – Hodinkee 2024 Edition retails for $9,650 USD. The first 100 examples will be shoppable through the Hodinkee Shop at 11 a.m. ET today. The remaining pieces will be available through Porsche Design shortly after.
