PDF SS25 Honors Car Culture
Titled, “Holy Motor,” the 23-look showcase included garments that blend street and biker style.
Domenico Formichetti’s brand PDF premiered its latest Spring/Summer 2025 collection “Holy Motor” at Milan Men’s Fashion Week. The collection, which took inspiration from automotive culture and its cult-like following, blended classic car and motorcycle aesthetics with streetwear shapes. Set in Ex Macello, the runway show’s engine-inspired garments complemented the industrial venue.
The color palette for this collection contrasted the sunny skies of summer with dark hues of black, orange, green and brown—all galvanized by car interiors. Staying in line with the automotive theme, motorcycle jackets were heavily featured in an array of colors and styles without feeling redundant. Camo, a streetwear stalwart, got a feature on a button-down and jacket combo while the more unconventional tartan print brought a fresh edge to oversized pants and jackets.
Strong textiles like denim, mesh, and triacetate were utilized, as durability is an aspect every driver wants in a car. The triacetate material, which is known for its shiny look and luxe feel, was a joint effort between PDF and Dainese, a motorcycle protection company, to really commit to the automotive theme of resilience.
Accessories got sized up with oversized bags and footwear that toe the line between fashion and practicality. Flap backpacks swallow half of the body, ensuring buyers never run out of space while overly large sneakers and Timberland-inspired boots capture attention.
The four-hour showcase included music performances by Ghali, Tony Effe, Tedua, Gaia, Anna, Bresh, Capo Plaza, Tony Boy and Astro. Overall, the spectacle offered a sartorial bridge between the worlds of cars, music and streetwear.
