With less than 40 days until the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, OMEGA is gearing up for the global sporting event with a new timepiece offering. This release sees a refreshing Seamaster Aqua Terra reference deriving its inspiration from eight-time pole vaulting world record holder, Armand “Mondo” Duplantis.
Housed in a 41mm stainless steel watch case, the timepiece spotlights a sporty blue dial in the model’s classic opaline finish but rendered in a horizontally striped texture for a twist. This is elevated with a splash of yellow that adorns the quarter-hour markers, the Seamaster logo as well as a pole-vault-shaped-central seconds hand.
Its transparent caseback provides an alluring glimpse into the watch’s inner workings, powered by the in-house 8900 self-winding caliber and is geared with a Co-Axial escapement. Capable of running continuously for up to 60 hours, the movement is also resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss as well as 15 bars underwater.
Retailing for $6,300 USD, the time-teller is accompanied by a textured rubber strap that echoes the hue of its dial. More details regarding the new Seamaster Aqua Terra can be found on OMEGA’s official website.
