A fusion of formal and casual style notes.

Since winning the 2023 LVMH Prize, Satoshi Kuwata has been building and refining his signature codes for his label, Setchu. One of those core values is the execution of quintessentially wearable, yet tasteful garments. He indeed has a knack for tailoring. Now the designer has revealed his new Spring/Summer 2025 collection, which keeps the brand’s forward-facing momentum.

For the new collection, Kuwata leaned into a fusion of flair and practicality – all with a playful touch. Therefore, inside you’ll find the elements of classic dress codes whether it be striped fabric or tailored cuts. But what the collection does is embed each garment or source of inspiration with a contemporary edge.

Mixing the formal and casual, garments like suits or even a lining jacket are met with layered notes, raw unfinished hems, off-the-shoulder cuts and even spliced sleeves. To note, the spliced sleeves are a recurring motif, which also is seen in relaxed denim. Elsewhere, the collection tosses up seersucker garments, a pale cream peplum knotted dress, paper drawstring chinos and more.

Also in the collection is a special manga artwork-inspired print that was crafted in collaboration with Louis Barthelemy – visualized on shirts, asymmetrical wrap dresses and pants.

Take a look at Setchu’s SS25 collection in the gallery above.
