Update: Hot off of the release of his “Fence Green” version of the Air Jordan 4 RM — debuting the new silhouette — Nigel Sylvester is gearing up for the launch of his “Driveway Grey” pair. Last spotted at the start of the month, Nike has gone ahead and revealed its official imagery of the kicks. Its signature dark grey is joined by red and white accents, serving as an homage to not only his grandmother’s driveway, but the legendary Air Jordan 4 “Bred” as well. Release is set for August 8 at a price of $150 USD. For a complete breakdown of the collaboration, we published our interview with Nigel earlier this week.

Update: Less than a week after word of a Nigel Sylvester-designed Air Jordan 4 RM “Anthracite” colorway surfaced, we now have a first look at the pair thanks to Lil Yachty. This brief preview of the design reveals many key details as the previously outlined color composition graces a suede upper that is similar to the “Grandma’s Driveway” look. The splash of “University Red” appears at the forefoot’s mini Swoosh while white arrives at both the heel portion of the midsole and the heel’s “BIKE AIR” branding. A release date has not yet been disclosed for this pair, however, the aforementioned green colorway is now set to drop on July 20, so be on the lookout for this one to arrive soon as well.

Original Story: Nigel Sylvester and Jordan Brand are preparing to expand the “Bike Air” canon this summer, as rumors of a collaborative “Anthracite” colorway of the Air Jordan 4 RM are beginning to swirl. Though images of the forthcoming release have yet to be revealed, it’ll be joining the previously-shown “Pro Green” colorway — also known as the “Grandma’s Driveway,” due to the inspiration it draws from Sylvester’s childhood in Queens, New York — as a key part of the Jumpman’s collaborative release slate in the second half of 2024.

The official color scheme for the release is “Anthracite/Anthracite/University Red/White,” meaning that it’ll likely provide a tweaked take on Jordan Brand’s familiar blend of black, red and white hues. Material-wise, it should feature a ballistic mesh base with a mixture of rubber and suede overlays, all atop a classic Air Jordan 4 midsole.

Sylvester is a longtime Jordan Brand collaborator known for his BMX exploits with his Go! series and his fondness for wearing rare sneakers while riding. His first official project with the brand arrived in 2018 via a pre-scuffed and distressed Air Jordan 1. He then became an official Jordan Brand athlete in 2021, and teased a friends-and-family-only Air Ship (the debut of his current “Bike Air” tagline, which is a flip on “Nike Air” in 2023. Besides his Air Jordan 4 RMs, rumors of a collaborative Air Jordan 4 “Firewood Orange” purportedly releasing later this year have also risen.

Stay tuned for more info on the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 RM “Anthracite” as it’s made available.
