Update: As 2024 comes to a close, it’s nearly time for Jordan Brand to kick off the new year with some of its long-anticipated releases, including the return of the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cat.” Nike has just shared the colorway’s official imagery, confirming the build as described in our previous updates below. Look for it to drop on January 11 of the new year via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $200 USD.
Update: We’re still a few months out from when the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cat” is expected to return. However, we now have our best look at the colorway yet as retailer imagery has been shared. The sneaker’s nubuck upper is joined by patent leather at the mudguard and a glossy finish at the midsole while maintaining a stealthy all-black finish throughout. Look out for the sneaker to drop on January 11 of next year via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $200 USD.
Update: Word of the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cat” returning for 2025 was shared at the end of May and now we finally have a first look at the re-release. The pair looks to stay true to its 2007 original design as its all-black presentation sees tonal elephant print detailing present at the mudguards and laces. Release for the shoe is now expected to take place on January 11 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $200 USD. Original Story: The rumor mill continues to spin as seemingly each week we have word of new Air Jordan releases to come. Looking ahead to later this year, one rumor that sparked much interest amongst sneakerheads revolves around a “Black Cat” colorway of the Air Jordan 5. Now, the dynamic duo of zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files is back with a report that the “Black Cat” take on the Air Jordan 3 will be returning in 2025.
Having first released in 2007 (a pair from that drop is pictured above) after the previous year’s Air Jordan 4 bearing the theme, the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cat” is a colorway that fetches a pretty penny nowadays on secondhand markets. While we don’t have a first look at 2025’s pair just yet, it’s confirmed to have a color arrangement of “Black,” “Dark Charcoal” and “White.” Look for it to also sport its predecessor’s unique details such as its elephant print laces and mixed material build.
At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not confirmed that the “Black Cat” colorway of the Air Jordan 3 is in fact returning next year.
