Yung Lean and Bladee Reunite for Surprise Album 'Psykos'
Delivering a melancholic soundtrack to existentialism with production from Palmistry and silent$ky.

Swedish sensations Yung Lean and Bladee have spent the last decade guiding a generation of internet-immersed youth. Both rising to stardom on their own journey, neither of them could have accomplished their ascent without the other. Reminiscing over their unconventional beginnings, Lean’s innovative debut mixtape Unknown Death 2002 saw the two visionaries connect on the ethereal “Nitevision” and the autotune-doused “Heal You // Bladerunner” in 2013. Now, with over 30 collaborative tracks to date documenting their everlasting friendship and evolution, the two remain as cutting-edge as ever with their eight-track surprise album Psykos.
Connecting with Palmistry and silent$ky for production throughout the project, both Lean and Bladee find themselves contemplating reality with the two setting the tone in a mix of spoken word and verse across the somber opening track “Coda.” By the time “Golden God” arrives as the third song, a tempo backs fierce delivery from the duo as Bladee notes “I’m in a bad place, my head is deep-fried,” while the two attempt to brush off their emotions and bask in their success. Though this moment doesn’t last long as the dreary sound of its following track “Still” queues up a deeper dive into existentialism that is ultimately accepted with the album’s finale “Things Happen” — recounting lost love and reconciling it by letting go.
