Jennifer Lopez Fights for Humanity in New Sci-Fi Netflix Thriller 'Atlas'
The teaser shows Simu Liu and Sterling K. Brown starring alongside JLo.
Jennifer Lopez has a new film coming out and it’s placing her in the action sci-fi realm. Netflix has debuted the teaser trailer for Atlas.
In the official synopsis, Lopez plays the titular character who is a government analyst who goes to a far away planet on a quest to defeat her oldest enemy. Lopez plays Atlas Shepherd who is “a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence, joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past. But when plans go awry, her only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it.” Set in a futuristic world, the script is written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite. Brad Peyton, who is known for working with Dwayne Johnson on San Andreas and Rampage, directs Atlas.
Joining Lopez in the cast is Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, as well as Gregory J. Cohan, Lana Parrilla and Mark Strong. Atlas is slated to hit Netflix on May 24.
