Renegade Running Launches Exclusive Collection and Pop-Up Ahead of LA Marathon
Sponsoring 26 BIPOC athletes competing in Sunday’s race.

Renegade Running, a one-stop-shop for apparel, shoes and other gear, has made the trek from its Oakland home base to Los Angeles ahead of the LA Marathon.
With the race itself taking place on Sunday, March 17, Renegade created a pop-up retail and community space in the city, which opened its doors on March 1. Along with shelling running gear from well-known and emerging brands alike, the space offers events to pair with training, including shake-out runs, yoga and mobility and meditation sessions.
The curated collection of pieces is fronted with an exclusive collaboration between Renegade and Satisfy, a special edition of the Parisian label’s one-of-a-kind MothTech T-shirt branded with the LA Marathon name and date.
Renegade also teamed up with the Mexico-city based brand Hermanos Koumori for a capsule spanning long sleeve shirts, crewnecks, pullover hoodies and shorts, all reading “Maratón de Los Ángeles.” The running store is offering a curated selection of apparel and shoes from its home store and additional custom LA Marathon pieces come courtesy of District Vision, Nike, Oakley and Pas Normal.
A formal public educator,Victor Diaz founded Renegade in 2020 as not only a store but also a community inspired by Oakland’s diverse running culture. A Latino raised in San Jose, Diaz aimed to introduce global brands to the local scene and to support BIPOC athletes, including those who aren’t necessarily competitive. This year, Renegade is sponsoring 26 BIPOC runners in the LA Marathon. Each runner is outfitted in custom Nike and received training and coaching from marathoner Nell Rojas.
“Renegade Running was built on the dream of an inclusive running community,” Diaz said. “We are excited to bring our vision to one of the most diverse cities in the world; a place that resonates deeply with me, from the family-oriented culture to its unique energy. It will be a very special time of celebration as our first athlete team toes the line after months of training.
“While running is in our DNA, this team’s success is a manifestation of our goals – to sink deeper into connections, embrace community members of all backgrounds and abilities, and create impact beyond sport.”
Renegade Running’s Los Angeles pop-up is open 11 am to 7 pm daily up until closing on the evening of March 17.
