Update: It’s been several months since the Olympic-themed Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Metallic Gold” first hit the net. Now, the Swoosh has presented its official imagery of the sneaker as it readies the design to launch next month. The shiny gold and black build has been revealed to be accompanied by a golden Jumpman hangtag and matching shoe box. For those eager to grab a pair, the shoe is now set to drop on August 10 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $180 USD.

Update: The Air Jordan 1 is about to celebrate its 40th anniversary next year, and Jordan Brand is keeping its momentum going by introducing a myriad of new looks to the sneaker this year. One of these fresh takes on the shoe was spotted last month, offering a “Metallic Gold” finish across the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG. Now, a detailed breakdown of the sneaker highlights its key detailing, including gold at both the tongue’s Nike Air branding and the sneaker’s semi-translucent outsole. Release remains anticipated for August 3 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $180 USD. For more info about the pair, be sure to review our initial story below.

Original Story: We’re halfway through our third month of the year and the Air Jordan 1 High has already received plenty of attention. Jordan Brand is continuing to lean on the retro silhouette with a wide variety of colorways touching down on the much-adored sneaker this year. Adding to the list, a new “Metallic Gold” rendition of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG has surfaced following the release of the Valentine’s Day-themed “Metallic Gold” makeover in women’s sizing last month.

Shared by sneaker leaker @xcsnkr via one tightly-cropped image, this new pair looks to combine black and “Metallic Gold” throughout its upper. The former is embraced at the leather base, the eyestays and the tongue, while the latter shimmers at the Swooshes, overlays and toe box. Adding to the preview, the collar’s Wings logo appears in black as a standard white stitched midsole rounds things out.

At the time of writing, we’re still awaiting word from Jordan Brand regarding release details for this “Metallic Gold” iteration of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG. However, it is currently rumored to release on August 3 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $180 USD.
