Daniel Arsham and Kohler Present 'Landshapes' Bathroom Furnishings
Debuting in the ‘Arsham Cabin’ in Wisconsin.
Daniel Arsham isn’t shy when it comes to his interests. From collaborations with Pokémon and Porsche to his various partnerships with Moncler and Tiffany & Co., the New York-based artist stays busy. Arsham’s latest project is an ongoing set of interior furnishings with the American manufacturing company Kohler.
Joining the 3D-printed ceramic sink sculpture they debuted in 2021, Landshapes is part of a larger endeavor called Arsham in Kohler, which features the artist’s own cabin filled with quirky-designed objects. Housed at Destination Kohler, the company’s resort space located by Lake Michigan, Arsham Cabin strikes a balance between an understated minimal interior that is accentuated by Arsham’s surrealist spin on mirrors, chairs and a free-standing tub.
Interior design has always been a penchant for Arsham, who founded the collaborative design practice, Snarkitecture, with Alex Mustonen. Like his future-relic sculptures, the Landshapes mirror appears like a distorted object discovered from a bygone civilization, set against Kohler’s slate blueWasteLAB tiles that are engineered from recycled materials. For those looking to purchase, the Landshapes collection will be available later this year.
