sacai and Carhartt WIP Return With Second Spring 2024 Drop

After launching the first installment from their second collaboration earlier this month, sacai and Carhartt WIP are back to mail out the next shipment from their Spring/Summer 2024 collaboration.

First seen on sacai’s runway in June, the line merges the Chitose Abe-led label’s classic formalwear with Carhartt WIP’s signature duck textiles through a bonding technique that’s bolstered by triple stitching, piping and intricate pocket details. As a result, the blended fabrics appear intentionally inside-out, with Carhartt’s usually internal materials deliberately placed in the external foreground.

Across the line, both brand’s staples become one. The reversible Duck Coat, for instance, mixes elements of Carhartt’s Chore Coat and the Siberian to form a versatile outerwear silhouette that can be worn in two different ways. Elsewhere, the workwear brand’s classic canvas becomes incorporated with sacai’s suiting fabrics on coats, while utilitarian details, like pull-tab belts and enlarged zippers, appear with high frequency.

This time around, the collection’s campaign, shot by Stas Komarovski, stars the Detroit-based “ghettotech” trio HiTech, as well as musician and model Soo Joo Park.
