sacai and Carhartt WIP To Drop Second Workwear-Inspired Capsule
Featuring a bonded version of sacai’s signature suiting textiles and Carhartt WIP’s classic duck materials.

First revealed on sacai’s Spring/Summer 2024 runway in June of last year, designer Chitose Abe’s latest Carhartt WIP collaboration is finally (almost) ready to hit the streets.
The line becomes a sartorial blender for sacai’s signature formalwear textiles and Carhartt WIP’s classic duck materials. The two fabrics are “bonded” together to form ensembles that appear inside-out, intentionally. This hybrid appearance is core to sacai’s codes, which have long championed the contrast between stark tones. Here, those include blacks and greys against browns and greens.
The lineup houses a bevy of inventive silhouettes. Among them, reversible jackets nod to signature Carhartt WIP fashion with reversible constructions, and standard overall tops are paired with pleated, skirt-like bottoms. Across the board, utilitarian details are strong: there’s more than enough storage room on multi-pocketed coats; jumpsuits include adjustable straps for versatility, and shorts come equipped with pull-tabs at the waist. There’s also a number of long-sleeves and T-shirts boasting dual-branded iconography, as well as a selection of caps that nod to the team-up.
The second sacai x Carhartt WIP capsule collection will launch on February 2 in Mainland China and Hong Kong. The collection will then receive a global launch at a later date. Take a closer look at the collection in the gallery above.
