Caroline Polachek Drops Deluxe Version of 'Desire, I Want To Turn Into You' LP
Featuring reworks alongside the new tracks “Dang” and “Gambler’s Prayer.”
Caroline Polachek has returned with a deluxe edition of Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, one year after the original’s release on Valentine’s Day.
For the updated album, Polachek revisited some of the songs that inspired her the first time around. As an homage to Operating Theatre, she delivered an electric cover “Spring Is Coming With A Strawberry In The Mouth.” The cover was produced by the alternative pop legend and PC Music head A.G. Cook.
In another tribute, this time to Default Genders’ song “Pharmacoma (For Ben Deitz),” Polachek sampled the track in her own song entitled “Coma,” building on the original’s production.
The singer also reworked one of fans’ favorite songs on the ‘Desire’ LP, “I Believe,” offering up an acoustic version co-produced by Ariel Rechtshaid. Rounding out the deluxe album is a rework of the power ballad “Butterfly Net” with a fresh feature from Weyes Blood, October’s “Dang” single and a totally new song called “Gambler’s Prayer.”
