'Pokémon Legends: Z-A' Has Been Announced
Trainers are set to return to Kalos’ Lumiose City next year.
Today is Pokémon Day and The Pokémon Company had plenty of exciting news to share with fans as they gear up for another year of action. Rounding out the 12-minute Pokémon Presents, the main video game series had its next title announced — Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Highlighted via a two-minute trailer, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the sequel to 2022’s Pokémon Legends: Arceus (PLA), which released just under a year after being announced during Pokémon Day in 2021. PLA reimagined what a Pokémon game could offer — introducing new movement, battle mechanics, a truly open-world environment and much more. With Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a new approach may be enlisted as it is said to take place entirely within Kalos’ Lumiose City, presumably set in the future based on the visuals of its announcement trailer. For those unfamiliar with the metropolis, Lumiose City appeared previously in the sixth generation of Pokémon games with Pokémon X and Y. Little information about the title itself was revealed, however, fan favorites from that era such as Aegislash, Sylveon and Talonflame all appeared with the outro indicating that the beloved Mega Evolution mechanic will return as well.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is said to be releasing worldwide simultaneously in 2025 via the Nintendo Switch and possibly the Nintendo Switch 2 as well. Stay tuned for updates as we await more details regarding this new Pokémon title.
