Brad Pitt and Quentin Tarantino are reuniting for the director’s final film, The Movie Critic.

According to Deadline, Pitt’s role in the movie is yet to be confirmed but he could possibly be playing the titular character. The Movie Critic will mark Pitt and Tarantino’s third body of work together, following 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (which won Pitt the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor) and 2009’s Inglourious Basterds. A 2025 release year is also reportedly scheduled.

Not much is known about The Movie Critic, but Tarantino previously divulged to Deadline that the film will be set in 1977 California and “is based on a guy who really lived but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag.” The filmmaker further explained that it was inspired by a job he took on as a teenager, which saw him handling porn magazines in a vending machine. “All the other stuff was too skanky to read, but then there was this porno rag that had a really interesting movie page,” he shared, adding that it featured a critic that piqued his interest.

Stay tuned for more info on The Movie Critic.
