PALY Traces Hollywood Cult History in Halloween Capsule
Designs inspired by actress Lana Turner’s infamous lore and other eerie stories.
Paying homage to its Los Angeles roots, PALY debuts a Halloween capsule collection that blends fashion, art and cult cinema phenomena. The limited-edition capsule includes a hoodie, sweatpants, t-shirt, and hat that illuminate upon the fame and danger within Hollywood’s hidden past.
Celebrating the capsule with a haunted house at the former residence of Samuel Goldwyn, a film industry pioneer, the capsule transports fans into the 1950’s lore around actress Lana Turner. The “Special Forces L/S Tee” illustrates the infamous relationship between Turner and mobster Johnny Stompanato while adding glamor through rhinestone embellishments and handwritten script.

Elsewhere in the collection, the “Rangely Hat // Classic High Crown” alludes to the eerie “Poltergeist Curse,” which refers to the urban legends around multiple actors’ deaths around the filming of the ’80s film trilogy. Names of actors from Poltergeist are embroidered on the hat with the brand’s signature distressed detailing. Kyle Lindgren, PALY’s co-founder, shares that the brand’s original hats were hand-faded “outside [his] little apartment in Hollywood, one by one.” Today, the PALY team still handles the distressing on its shirts by hand.
