Artists Can Transform Concert Setlists Into Playlists on Apple Music
The tool works by linking their artist profile to Bandsintown.
Apple Music has a new tool that allows artists to turn their concert setlists into playlists. The feature works by pulling information from Shazam and Bandsintown, the latter of which is a platform that provides a calendar of live music and their setlists.
Artists can then create setlists for upcoming shows, whether a concert, tour or residency. The feature lets them designate the kind of show, the date and the location – or, if that information is already on Bandsintown, they can simply select a given show.
From there, the artist can add tracks from their setlist to the playlist, as well as songs from other artists if the show includes any collaborations or covers. After a show wraps, they can either delete the playlist or leave it up for fans to relive the experience.
The feature is designed to help artists promote live shows while allowing fans a new way to get hyped ahead of upcoming concerts.
