Watch FKA Twigs Transform in "Perfect Stranger" Music Video
With appearances from British designer MOWALOLA and alt-rock icon Yves Tumor.
FKA Twigs has released the music video for “Perfect Stranger,” the second single for her forthcoming LP Eusexua. Twigs continues to charge forward with another dance-forward track, this time professing unconditional love for the “perfect stranger.”
The London-based experimental alt-pop artist cuts right to the chase with the opening lyrics “I don’t know the name of the town you’re from, your star sign, or the school you failed. I don’t know and I don’t care,” illustrating the moment where Twigs is ready to risk it all just for the night.
Dry instrumentation and a heavy bassline create a feeling of intimacy as the song builds up to the hook, which proclaims “You’re beautiful, you’re worth it. You’re the best, and you deserve it. You’re a stranger, so you’re perfect,” a radical affirmation to her variable stranger.
The video features a kaleidoscope of looks, depicting Twigs across a spectrum of vignettes with different partners including vanguard British designer MOWALOLA and alt-rock artist Yves Tumor. Twigs goes through major transformations from scene to scene; at once, in a sexy latex ensemble and a high ponytail, and at another instance, portraying a motherly role in a cozy domestic scene.
