Shinola Premieres a New Monster Automatic Timepiece
Introducing the all-black Ceramic Monster.

Detroit-based company, Shinola is expanding its Monster time-telling lineup with a new debut: the Ceramic Monster Automatic.
As its name indicates, the watch features a ceramic build that is hard-wearing, lightweight and naturally resistant to scratches, corrosion, and oxidation. Measuring 43mm in diameter, the watch case and the bezel inserts both are made from ceramic, while a rubber strap provides textural contrast. Notably, this release also marks Shinola’s first-ever timepiece to feature an integrated rubber strap.
Doused in a sleek and stealthy black color, the watch dial boasts subtle wave-like etchings that reference fireboats of the Great Lakes. Pops of white accentuate the dial in the form of hour-markers, which along with its hour and minute hands are coated in Super-LumiNova to enhance the timepiece’s visibility in dark environments. As for power, the watch runs on the SW200-1, a Swiss-made automatic movement with a minimum of 38-hour power reserve.
The Ceramic Monster Automatic will be officially launched on January 5, 9 a.m. EST. It will be available for purchase via Shinola’s official website with a retail price of $2,150 USD.
