Nike Charges Up the Alphafly 3 with a High-Energy "Volt" Colorway
Fit for the fast and furious.

Nike has the running market buzzing with the $285 USD Alphafly 3 — the “fastest shoe in the world,” a style that debuted during Kelvin Kiptum’s world record-setting performance at the Chicago Marathon and flew off the shelves equally as fast in its inaugural “Prototype” colorway. There’s more on the way from the space age runner, with official images of a yet-to-release “Volt” colorway recently appearing.
In short, the “Volt” is not for the faint of heart or the slow of foot. Everything about it screams speed, from the blazing yellow shade that provides it with its moniker to the cool gradient fade on its midsole, the bold orange Zoom Air units in the forefoot and the technical graphics on the lateral half of the midsole. The upper is made from ultra-light Atomknit, while the shoe’s advanced propulsion is proved by a three-headed monster of ZoomX foam, Zoom Air units and a carbon fiber Flyplate to return as much energy to the wearer as possible, thrusting them forward into their next stride (for real tech nerds, Nike’s info page about the silhouette offers a highly detailed description).
If you’re looking to reach new speeds in the Alphafly 3 “Volt,” you’ll be able to do so when it touches down at retailers over the next few weeks. As mentioned above, its MSRP is set at $285 USD.
