Hulu Previews New Murder Mystery Series, 'Death and Other Details'
Imogene Scott, played by Violett Beane, must team up with her worst enemy to solve the at-sea whodunnit case.
Hulu has dropped off the first trailer for its upcoming murder mystery series dubbed Death and Other Details.
Per the show’s official description – Death and Other Details is set “amidst the glamor of the global elite,” and hones in on Imogene Scott, played by Violett Beane, who catches herself in a classic “wrong place/wrong time” scenario and thus finds herself as the prime suspect of a whodunnit case – in the middle of the ocean.
“Pay attention – If you want to solve a crime, you must first learn to see through the illusion. Details matter,” an off-screen voice opens the trailer, as Scott and her companion (played by Lauren Patten) board their lavish 10-day cruise – followed immediately by a shot of a murdered ship attendee.
“Somebody has to do something,” Scott conveys. “But it doesn’t always have to be you,” Patten’s character replies. “But I’m so good at it,” Scott quips back before discovering her commitment to the case comes with a critical gripe; in order to solve the mystery and therefore clear her name, she must team up with Mandy Patinkin’s Rufus Cotesworth a.k.a. The World’s Greatest Detective – a.k.a. the man she hates most in the world.
Rahul Kohli, Angela Zhou, Hugo Diego Garcia, Pardis Saremi and Linda Emond also appear in the film.
Stream the trailer for Death and Other Details above, and expect the series to premiere on Hulu come January 16, 2024. The first two episodes will land on the streamer on premiere night, followed by a weekly release schedule until the two-part finale on March 5.
