Netflix has officially renewed popular Japanese sci-fi thriller drama Alice in Borderland for a third season.

Netflix took to X to drop a new trailer for the upcoming season. The teaser was accompanied by an ominous caption that read, “You may draw another card. Alice in Borderland will return for Season 3!” After the debut of its second season, the show became the most-watched Japanese title on Netflix ever. This stat included anime projects as well. It quickly climbed the ranks, becoming one of the Top 10 series to watch in over 90 countries, also claiming the No. 1 spot in 17 of those countries. Worldwide, it clocked in 200 million viewing hours.

Season 3 will see Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya reprise their roles as Arisu and Usagi. Fans will see how the characters have evolved in the ever-dangerous landscape of Borderland. Director Shinsuke Sato is also slated to continue helming the series. The series is based on the manga of the same name by Haro Aso, which follows the story of Arisu as he is transported to a parallel universe and must play and win games to stay alive. Last season ended with a cliffhanger involving a Joke card. It remains to be seen how that carries on to the third season.
