The official trailer for Ridley Scott‘s Napoleon has been released.
Starring Joaquin Phoenix as the titular character, the forthcoming epic historical drama narrates Napoleon Bonaparte’s rise to power from military leader to Emperor of France through the lens of his “addictive and volatile relationship” with his wife, Empress Joséphine. The trailer depicts Napoleon’s beginnings as a successful military commander, his coronation and the Napoleonic Wars.
Joining Phoenix in the cast are Vanessa Kirby as Empress Joséphine, Tahar Rahim as Paul Barras, Ben Miles as Caulaincourt and Matthew Needham as Lucien Bonaparte to name a few. David Scarpa wrote the script while Scott, Mark Huffam and Kevin J. Walsh produced the title.
Watch the trailer above. Napoleon hits theaters November 22 and will stream on Apple TV+ after.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Warner Bros. has scrapped the live-action Powerpuff Girls series.
