While not officially declared by Nike, the footwear maker’s latest Air Force 1 provides a few cues that would suggest its colorway was inspired by the highly coveted Air MagsBack To The Future.”

First seen in 1989, in Back To The Future II, Marty McFly’s self-lacing sneakers have become a grail among grails for sneaker collectors and while this upcoming AF1 doesn’t feature any automated systems or lights, it does offer a nod to the pair based on colorway alone — at a fraction of the price as well.

Details on the AF1 include light grey leather enveloping the entire silhouette against a backdrop of grey ripstop material and lightly textured grey laces. Touches of white are found on the logo, heel cap, and rubber midsole atop a semi-translucent outer sole. Finishing touches that call to the original “Back To The Future” pair include teal color branding at the midsole, insole and tongue of the shoe.

Full release details have not yet been shared by Nike at the time of writing, although, the pair is expected to launch in the coming months on its official site.
